Polesden Lacey
National Trust, Polesden Lacey House, Dorking, Surrey, RH5 6BD
A 1,600-acre estate with elegant gardens, Edwardian house and plenty of room to play. Visit us for a day of music, local community appearances, and lots of fun!
In the Surrey Hills, just 25 miles from London, Polesden Lacey is ideal for spending time with family and friends. The genius of the garden is its setting with glorious views of Ranmore Common and rolling parkland. A landscape virtually unchanged since medieval times.
On the 9th and 10th September Polesden Lacey are celebrating the local area, by opening its doors and inviting community groups to talk about the important work that they do.
On top of this, there will be lots of entertainment and fun activities to join along with all whilst you're learning more about the community.
Grab your picnic and get ready for live music on the south lawn, 2-4pm on both days. Whilst you're lounging around, why not take a brief break and have a go at the small pop up mini golf course, which is free to play this weekend only!
There will also be lots of things for the little ones - have a go at a variety of different games in crab apple orchard, and marvel at the massive griffin puppet, inspired by statues in the garden. Can you help us name it?
And finally, we're launching the Little People, BIG DREAMSĀ® exhibition and trail, which inspires children to be bold, be brave and dream big, by learning more about important people throughout history.
This event took place in September 2023 and the entry is now archived.
