Shrewsbury Drapers’ Hall Talk

Drapers Hall Restaurant, 10 St. Marys Place, Shrewsbury, Shropshire, SY1 1DZ

Visit, see and hear about Shrewsbury Drapers' Hall, dating from 1575. With details of furniture and fixtures dating from the sixteenth century.

Shrewsbury was built on the profits of the Welsh woollen cloth trade. This is an opportunity to enter an ancient guild hall and meet present day members of the Hall Preservation Trust and hear about the history of the wool merchant predecessors. The former members of the Shrewsbury Drapers Company left a legacy of buildings in the town, the style of which has become known to historians as the Shrewsbury style or school of carpentry.

This event took place in September 2023 and the entry is now archived.
