Access Information
The walking tour itself is on public pavements with some public road crossings. The first third of the walk is slightly downhill, the middle third is about level and the final third is slightly uphill. The start is from just outside the Manningham Mills main entrance on the corner with adjacent Patent St. There will be no access to the Mill, so no toilets or café - sorry (the community centre unfortunately had to close two years ago due to financial cuts). There will be public toilets just over halfway through the walk in the Manningham public library.
Additional information
Max 30 people per tour/session. Guided walk, with leader in costume dressed as Samuel Lister, the 19th century owner of the Mill. The walk, in easy stages, lasts up to 120 mins on public pavements.
Directions
Immediately opposite the Lawcroft/Lilycroft Police station, near the tall chimney seen from most parts of Bradford. Meet outside on the corner with the immediately adjacent Patent Street.
There is free parking in Patent St. If coming by bus, take the 621 bus (towards Haworth Road direction, ask for Manningham Mills) from City Centre bus/train interchange (takes about 12 mins) half hourly frequency on Sundays. Bus stop for alighting is immediately opposite the 5/6 storey Mill. No entrance to the Mills nor its facilities is possible on that day. Note that if walking from Frizinghall rail station it is a good half/two thirds of a mile uphill walk (& no direct bus link) to the walk start.
