A fine Early English church with Grade I listing, mainly for the Lady Chapel with its stunning collection of funerary sculpture comemorating the Waterton and Savile families, Ministers at Court. Glorious stained glass from C15 to early C20.

With origins in the twelfth century, the church contains a wealth of artifacts attesting to its national and international importance. Bellringers will give guided tours of the tower. An archeological dig is currently being undertaken in the chancel

St Michael's is open every day of the year, but on Saturday 12th September, we will have a special Open Afternoon with guided tours from 1400 to 1600, an opportunity to learn about our church bells from 1530, and refreshments available from 1400.
