Come and get a unique glimpse into the lost industrial world of J. W. Evans Silver Factory.

Step into JW Evans, a 19th century silver factory and historic treasure trove in the heart of Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter, so well preserved it’s as if the workers have dropped tools and will return any minute! With free-flowing tours 10am to 3pm, come and meet our friendly and knowledgeable team to learn about the fascinating story of JW Evans and look back into a significant part of Britain’s industrial and working-class history. It is like a Mary Celeste from Britain’s industrial age and a window into a time Birmingham was the ‘workshop of the world’!

About your visit:
J.W. Evans will be free flow entry and during busier times this may result in a short wait outside of the property before allowing entry. Booking not required, ground floor only.

Minimum age is 16yrs. Children under the age of 16 are not permitted at Evans, under our risk assessment policy.

We advise that unfortunately the site is not suitable for those with poor mobility, due to the uneven floors and narrow walkways throughout the building.

Due to the nature of the site the dogs are not permitted at Evans, this includes guide dogs.

We do not have a café, but there are lots of great coffee shops, restaurants and pubs nearby.
