This talk describes the refectory of St Nicholas' Priory, its historic significance during Tudor times, its decline in Victorian times, and eventually the incredible restoration work of the refectory completed by Niall Phillips back during the 1990s.
High above the Teign Gorge on the edge of Dartmoor stands Castle Drogo. Reminiscent of a medieval fortress the castle was designed and built between 1910 and 1930 by renowned architect Sir Edwin Lutyens for self-made millionaire Julius Drewe.

St Anne’s is a beautiful medieval chapel, and a place of Orthodox Christian worship since 1980. The church is not normally open except for services, so this is a rare opportunity for visitors to view it from the inside.
It is 300 years since Baptists first worshipped God on our South Street site. Do come and visit our exhibition about the history of the church, see our sanctuary, and also enjoy a display of our worship banners. Tea & coffee available.
