Come and explore our secret spaces and hear a tale or two from Headstone's amazing past. Step back in time to the beginning of Headstone Manor’s history! This is a unique opportunity to explore the grounds and buildings of Headstone Manor.
Two former Foundlings will tell us what life was like for the children in Berkhamsted Foundling Hospital 1935-55. Walking around the present Ashlyns School they will recall memories and feelings of those days.
Visitors will have the opportunity of seeing the original schoolhouse built in 1544 (Grade I listed), to learn something about the history of the school (founded in 1541) and see the beautiful little Victorian chapel.
