St Mary's Church is a beautiful and ancient Grade I listed building, dating from approximately 1200 when the present chancel was built, although there is evidence of a church as early as 1086, including the font, which is used today.

Whilst Buxton Museum and Art Gallery is currently closed, come and visit the team at their temporary home at Buxton Library, handle some real museum artefacts and ask any questions, and say hello to the famous Buxton bear!

This gothic-style Primitive Methodist Church of 1903 (Pevsner) by D M Wildgoose of a local building firm is open on Saturday (11-3) and Sunday (11.30-12.30). On Friday (7.30) there is a talk on excavating the lost kilns of the nearby Brickyard Farm.

Visitors have the opportunity to take advantage of a self-guided tour, using a smartphone or tablet. Visitors may wander about the church to enjoy the atmosphere and heritage.

A discovery tour from Dronfield's 1430 medieval yeoman dwelling through the town's Conservation Area to view the restored stained glass in St John the Baptist church.

We will visit at least one Christian Church, Hindu Temple, Sikh Gurdwara and Muslim Mosque, all located near to each other in this multi-faith multi-cultural neighbourhood. NB Dress code for mosque - see notes.

Everyone is welcome to come. The church is open to visitors with historical documents and photos display. There will be a guided tour of the churchyard with reference to notable local people buried here and their Burbage connection.
