St Michael & All Angels is a spectacular 20th century church, built in the shape of a star. Features of interest include the huge blue and red pointed east window of the Heavenly Host by Christopher Webb and a double, star-shaped chandelier.

The Mechanics Institute is a grade II* listed building it is best known as the birthplace of the TUC which was founded in the building in 1868, and Manchester's two universities have their roots in the building.

Stockport's 1932 Super Cinema and Variety Theatre throws open her doors at 1100 on Sunday 21st September 2025 as part of the National Heritage Open Days for a full day of FREE to attend events.

The Grade One Bodley church (thought by some to be his best work) is not usually open except for services. It will be open on Friday 12 September, Saturday 13 September, and Sunday 14 September (times as below).

Grade II listed Church of England church. Stained glass windows. Interior elements include fixed pews and galleries with box seating. Other fixtures include a stone font and pulpit, a wooden lectern, and various memorial tablets.

St James Church is a Grade II listed Building, consecrated in December 1865. Church is near Ashton Town Centre with good public transport links, bus, train and tram.

Explore our beautiful Grade II listed, neo-gothic building. Built in 1879 by philanthropists John and Enriqueta Rylands for the people of Stretford, the hall was awarded to the Friends group in 2014, following a passionate campaign to keep it public.

Fairfield Moravian Church and Settlement are of unique importance nationally, being the largest of its kind in Britain. It has been made into a Conservation Area with all of its buildings listed as being of Special Architectural or Historic Interest.
