Once an impressive waterside warehouse standing on the banks of the Kennet and Avon Canal, the Wharf became a 96 seat theatre in 1979.The Wharf is run by a community of volunteers and we look forward to welcoming you to our theatre..

This Listed Kiosk has recently been adopted by the Trust for Devizes. It has been partly restored but work is still in progress.

The building was originally a girls' school. It was purchased by the Wiltshire Lodge of Fidelity in 1881 and has been the Masonic Hall since that time. A pair of adjoining cottages was later purchased to enable the Masonic Hall to be enlarged.

St. John's Church was built in the early 12th Century by the Bishops of Salisbury. It was initially the Church for the Castle, its governor and garrison - the Castle Church. It is now a grade 1 listed magnificent building.

The Wiltshire Museum has been located in the historic market town of Devizes since 1874 and contains the largest collection of Early Bronze Age gold ever put on public display in England.

A former hat shop, this building is now leased by Wiltshire Historic Buildings Trust. The building is Elizabethan and was restored in 1988.

Devizes Town Hall is a municipal building in St John's Street in Devizes. The structure, which is the meeting place of Devizes Town Council, is a Grade II* listed building.

The church is a Grade II* listed building, as described in “An Architectural Description”. There are a number of windows and memorials of interest and the church houses the regimental chapel of the Wiltshire Regiment.

Devizes Lock up is beneath the Town Hall and was first opened in its current form in 1806. It was used to imprison troublemakers overnight in the 19th Century,

The Kennet & Avon Canal Trust was formed in 1962. The Trust is still active today, working to promote the Kennet and Avon Canal to the benefit of all its users, the communities through which it passes, and its heritage.

The Church of St Mary the Virgin, Park Street, Devizes, dates from the Norman times and is one of the most important buildings in the town, with the church tower a particular landmark. The building is listed Grade I.

27 St Johns Street is a 18th Century Grade 2 listed building which, until 1869 was a dwelling house and garden owned by Edwin Giddings.

Now a craft beer bar, the Pour House is part of the Historic England listing for the District Club which was built in the late 18th Century and has 3 storeys and a basement.

Crofton Beam Engines, a site built when steam was king! A unique Grade I listed canal-side Georgian steam pumping station, housing an original 1812 Boulton & Watt and an 1846 Harvey of Hayle Cornish Beam Engine. This is a non-steaming event.

The main place of interest is the meeting room itself which was built in 1904. We will have a display about its history, some personal memories and its many uses. Come and experience its peaceful atmosphere.

**EVENT CANCELLED** Built in 1720, Nikolaus Pevsner said that Brownston House is ‘the best house in Devizes’. The house was built for Francis Merewether of Devizes and Easterton, who was was Member of Parliament for Devizes in 1701 and again from 1703 to 1705.

The Bell Tower will be open from 10am - 12pm and 2pm - 4pm on Saturday 12th September. Come and view the beautiful Bell Tower at St James', usually closed to all but the bell ringers! There will also be a mobile peel of bells so people can have a go.
